A Listing of Land currently owned by the National Trust

The Trust was founded in 1960 as an association and in 1967 became The National Trust of Guernsey with the great privilege of having been incorporated by Order in Council. The first piece of land owned by the Trust was Le Vaux de Monel at Torteval and was gifted by founder member Miss Bonamy-Collings as a "Foundation Gift".

The Trust now owns 75 properties/parcels of land, totalling 157 vergees.

Jerbourg (Perry's Ref: 31 G3). Grassy slopes leading to magnificent views of the offshore islands and St Peter Port. Land given by Mrs B. Ashworth

Le Gouffre (Perry's Ref: 28 C5). Situated above the restaurant just beyond the seat at the top of the steps on the right hand side. A circle walk with some sea views. Bluebells and primroses to be found in Spring on this walk.

Les Camprôts (Perry's Ref: 28 B5). An extensive area which includes two plots given by Miss N. Sheppard; here several seats enable the sea-views and meadows to be enjoyed.

La Prévôté and Le Coémy (Perry's Ref: 27 G5). Cliffland Slopes.

Le Vaux de Monel and La Varde Rock (Perry's Ref: 32 C2). Naturalised garden with fine views over Rocquaine Bay, good paths, seats.

La Folie (Perry's Ref: 32 B/C2). Leading to medievaI valley footpath, Extensive views.

Le Catioroc (Perry's Ref: 12 D4/5). Shrubby seaside slopes, footpaths, fine views, seats.

Les Talbots Valley (Perry's Ref: 23 E1). Hillside paths overlooking beautiful wooded valley forming the 'Ron Short Walk'. A separate site below the road incorporates an important marshland area.

L'Erée (Perry's Ref: 12 B5). On the road to Lihou Island is a small area of land donated to the Trust in 1993. The view over L'Erée aerodrome may be enjoyed from a vantage point sheltered from the prevailing westerly wind.

La Miellette (Perry's Ref: 7 H3). A small strip of coastal land to the north and south of the car parking area at La Miellette. This was given anonymously.

Chouet (Perry's Ref: 6 2A). A parcel of land given in 1995. An old back filled quarry with coastal views. A path leads through with a picnic bench situated along the path.
[update] 14th April 2004: Following works carried out on behalf of the States Board Of Administration a new path has been constructed giving better access along this coastal area. This path is now open.

Crève Coeur (Perry's Ref: 6 1B). A parcel of land situated behind the shingle bank to the west of Jaonneuse Bay. At present this is leased to the States of Guernsey and is used as part of the Crève Coeur landfill site. This is no longer in use and the whole of the area will be handed back to the Trust once it has been properly landscaped.

L'Eree (Perry's Ref: 20 1A). A parcel of land donated in 1993 by Miss Winifred Machon. There is a path to a seat giving a view over the former L'Eree aerodrome.

Les Talbots Valley/Le Petit Pre (Perry's Ref: 23 F2). A wet meadow and fresh water pond providing a habitat which supports a fine spring show of orchids. Please respect this meadow when visiting during and after the flowering of the orchids and other plants.

Land situated at Rue Du Loriers, Vale. This land does not have public access and has been left in a natural state.

The Trust has a further four parcels of land which are tenanted and have no public access at this time.

Most areas of land have either a large granite marker or an oval plaque bearing the name the National Trust of Guernsey. Visitors are asked to respect the various parcels of land, leaving them as they would wish to find them.
