26, Cornet Street is probably the earliest remaining complete building within the town's medieval boundaries. The exquisite 18th Century house has been restored by the National Trust of Guernsey as a Victorian Shop and Parlour.
The shop, operating on two floors, has an extensive array of traditional gifts, sweets and souvenirs. One room has been laid out as a Victorian period parlour and is a taster of what can be viewed the National Trust's Folk & Costume Museum at Saumarez Park.
It is well worth the short stroll up the hill from the Town Church.
26 Cornet Street is open Tues-Sat 10am - 4pm from the end of March to beginning of October - 2010
